Psychological Testing
Comprehensive Evaluations
Bay Area PCIT provides comprehensive psychological assessments, treatments, and support for children who struggle with cognitive and learning disabilities. We treat patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ADHD, academic and developmental delays, disruptive behaviors, situational anxieties, cognitive impairment, and those who are on the autism spectrum.
Psychoeducational Evaluations
Psychoeducational Evaluations/Assessments are designed to help you understand how your child learns and the best way to support them. Evaluations consist of a full cognitive and academic evaluation, as well as an assessment of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
We offer a free 20-minute phone consultation with your treating psychologist to discuss your child’s needs and to determine the most appropriate type of assessment to meet them. The amount of time required to complete an evaluation and report varies depending on the needs of your child and may include school observations and attendance of IEP meetings. Assessments range in price from $3,000-$6,000 depending on the time required and complexity. Prior to beginning the assessment, you will be provided with a detailed estimate.
Our evaluations are conducted by Licensed Educational Psychologists or Licensed School Psychologists who specialize in assessing ADHD, learning disabilities (Dyslexia), Autism, Anxiety, Depression, and Intellectual Disabilities. Testing sessions are in-person and last approximately 4-10 hours depending on the needs of your child. Initial consultation, intake, and feedback sessions are conducted virtually.
A detailed written report will be provided to you at the completion of the assessment which includes specific recommendations to support your child’s learning and development both at home and at school.
IQ Testing
We offer IQ testing for children and adults to help clarify cognitive strengths to support individuals in meeting their cognitive potential. Aspects of cognitive functioning include verbal and nonverbal abilities, reasoning skills, working memory, visual-spatial abilities, attention, and processing speed. Typical IQ testing is usually completed in one testing session and you will receive a brief report with the results.
